3 Columbia LPsSAX 2470-2472. 1st UK Stereo issue with turquoise and silver labels. The Juilliard Quartet perform Mozart’s 6 “Haydn” String Quartets.
The LPs are in Exc- condition. The records have a good sheen to them. SAX 2472 has a mark visible (track one, sideone) which I have attempted to photograph, but neither this nor the few light lines visible elsewhere have any effect on playback. A little surface noise canbe heard here and there (this will probably disappear with a clean and/ or afew further plays), but no ticks or pops. The laminated flipback sleeves are also in Exc- condition – they’re ever-so-slightly grubby, and the sleeve of SAX 2471 has slight damage to the top corner above the spine (see photo). The labels are Exc – only the most minimal of spindle marks. The LPs are supplied in modern antistatic inners, inside the original “EMI Outstanding Artists” inner sleeves, which have slightly crumpled corners but are otherwise fine. An excellent copy of this lovely performance of these masterpieces.
