The LP is in EX/EX+ condition. No surface noise to speak of on either side and only a few pops/ticks here and there. On side 2 there are two repetitive ticks in the Szymanowski, an 8 rev and a 3 rev both of which are quiet. The cover is in Ex condition.There are a few marks and crease on the front right hand edge, otherwise it has been protected by the original shrink wrap which is still on it though this has caused some slight bending of the cover.
I confess to hardly knowing the recordings of Julian Sitkovetsky, and till recently I only really knew of him as the father of Dimitri Sitkovetsky. This is exceptional playing, not least the remarkable virtuosity he uses to play the Ernst and the Bazzini, but also the interpretive insight he brings to the Szymanowski. It is clearly from a larger set of records, and I only hope I come across the others to discover more of his playing.
This LP comes from a large collection of records owned by a retired music professor that I am selling on his behalf. There are some gems in the collection which I will post for auction soon. I do no grade the records visually, I listen to them in their entirety and try to give as accurate description of the condition as I can.
