Description
Jutta Hipp “At The Hickory House” Volume 1, Blue Note 1515. 1956. Mono. Heavy Platter, original Deep Groove pressing. Dead Wax matrix # “BN- LP – 1515 – A” (or “- B”) and “RVG” are hand-etched, not stamped. Also see evidence of “the ear” in the dead wax, though not as clearly as on other Blue Note 1950s pressings. The back cover shows the address as “767 Lexington Ave., New York 21” and “767 Lexington Ave NYC” on the label.
The record is quite clean, in strong VG++ shape, showing only a few light marks, retaining a fair amount of its original surface sheen. There are a number of spindle marks on the label, which also shows evidence of a small sticker on side 1; if not for this, the record could realistically be called VG+/NM-.
The cover is VG/VG+; the front cover shows tape along the bottom seam, while the back cover has writing and some light water staining at the top, and a small tear in the upper right corner. Top seam and spine are fully intact. Still, VERY RARE in overall condition this good
