Description

This is a very "Rare" first edition released on Wergo in 1964. It is in a book format with a hard cover and 17 pages of writing and photos of Stockhausen and his scores.

It is personally signed to Leonard Stein, pianist and champion of 20th century composers and director of the Schoenberg institute of USC from it's inception in 1975 to 1991. This was from Leonard Stein's personal collection.

Stockhausen signed items are very few and far between. I have never seen another LP autographed by him.

It is  also much less common to find this LP in "Mono". Record still has full luster but has scratches and light marks on side one that can be heard periodically. Nothing constant just ticks and light surface noise. Side two is in excellent condition. The amazing thing about this version is the fidelity. It is sonically amazing. Loud and clear. Higher output than most LPs. Labels are in great shape with no spindle marks.

The cover has yellowed through time but is still bound very tight. There is a mark on the back cover but the front is still very clean. There is considerable wear on the bottom right corner and top right corner (please see photos).

Pages inside have yellowed as well but have no marks of any kind other than Stockhausen's note.

This is a one of a kind item that will never come around again.
