KALEIDOSCOPE "Hang Out" b/w "Colours"
(Guerssen GUESSG019)
Brand new limited edition vinyl 7"—only 537 copies pressed in numbered sleeve!
Issued as part of Guerssen's 30th anniversary celebrations, this dynamic new 45 combines 2 absolute KILLER sides, taken from the group's uber-rare Orfeon LP, originally released in 1969 in Mexico.
Initially assumed to be a Mexican group, and though Kaleidoscope gigged a lot in Mexico City (and later Cuernavaca), none of them were actually from Mexico. Frank Tirado, of Puerto Rico, was on vocals and bass, Orly Vázquez, also of Puerto Rico, and Spanish transplant Pedrín García both commanded electric guitar. Rafael Cruz and Julio Arturo Fernández of the Dominican Republic handled drums and organ. They recorded their lone, eponymous album in 1967 at Fabiola Studios in the Dominican Republic, but it wasn’t released until two years later by the Mexican label, Orfeón; allegedly, only 200 copies were pressed to test reactions to psychedelic music in Mexico, making it a top-tier rarity today! This new 45 marks the first time these tracks have been paired together on a 7".
Brand new and unplayed, direct from the label.
