A very rare and amazing avant-garde electronic music LP from Dutch abstract expressionist painter Karel Appel. This record was released in 1963 and came in a hard-cover fold-out sleeve with an incredible 30 page book with a rare print on cardboard inside. As could be expected, the music is very visual and reminds me of Musique Concrete and the music of George Anthiel. Pretty aggressive at times with lots of tape noise and and abstract piano playing. MONO pressing from Phillips.

Included in this auction is another eBay listing from 2001 where this same LP was sold for $450+ dollars!  This record is very rare and will most certainly be snatched up for a collection.
Note: I grade records honestly and conservatively and given the extreme rarity of this LP I am doing a visual and playback grading.

Disc Condition:  VG+ to VG++ (LP shows some surface marks, mainly faint hairline scratches--likely from sleeve wear--none that are deep or "feelable". Side 1 has a several pops but none that are constant--as in a deep scratch. No skips either. Side 2 again has some pops throughout but none that take away from the music, in my opinion. LP sounds great and is very crisp. Amazingly Hi-Fi for a mono LP.
Jacket Condition:  VG+ to VG++ (LP inner sleeve is fully intact and shows no seam splits or binding issues. LP is stored in a non-original DJ 12" sleeve to protect the record and the original sleeve. The LP jacket is also in good condition. No ring wear or excessive "pitting". Very minor corner dulling. High gloss cover shows some scratches. Library style binding is in tact. Gatefold opens beautifully and looks great! 
Booklet Condition: Exterior of booklet shows signs of wear, mainly to the seam, which though fully intact is splitting in one or two 1.5" areas. Photographs inside are in beautiful condition, as is the cardboard print, titled "My Paint Tube Is A Rocket". Photographs show the artist at work in the painting studio and the recording studio. Some of the shots of him playing drums and screaming are heard in the record.

Grading Info:
All records are graded using the Goldmine Magazine record grading standard (see below). Each record is visually graded under strong light. If a record is play graded, it will be noted in the item description.

Goldmine Magazine Record Grading Standard:
M (Mint) – Perfect, flawless. Still sealed in original packaging and never played. These are RARE. 
M- or NRMT (Mint Minus or Near Mint) – The highest grade for a record that has been played.  The album is in excellent condition and shows no visible signs of wear or damage that will affect sound quality.
VG++ (Very Good Plus Plus) – Only the slightest of wear, certainly no deep scratches. Cover may have slight ring wear and minor seam splitting.
VG+ (Very Good Plus) – Well cared for. Though there may be more wear to the cover and record it should play without skipping or repeating.
VG (Very Good) – Still good condition, but more wear than VG+.  
VG- (Very Good Minus) – Generally not collectible condition, unless it’s a super rare record.  
G (Good) – Lots of wear, but still playable. 
WBR (Wrecked But Rare) – Otherwise known as a Starter Copy. Not cracked, but a starter copy.

We ship on Mondays and Thursdays. All auctions end on Sunday evening PST, so if payment is received by Monday 2PM PST your item will likely be shipped out. If not, item will ship the following Thursday if payment is received by then.
All LPs are professionally packed and shipped in sturdy record mailers with a double layer of bubble wrap. I take great care in packing items to avoid bending and seam splits during shipment.
