Vinyl:  EX++ to NM. 

This looks barely played. Light retraction mini traces only that can only be seen under a strong light. In normal light this looks mint. Also the fact that there are no spindle traces point to a nearly pristine vinyl. I have played this in full on my high end Linn Sondek and B&W system and it sounded simply stunning without any distractions. Of course, NO skips, jumps, crackle etc.

Sleeve: EX. The original lightly textured sleeve looks to be in formidable shape. There are no creases. The spine is fully legible and the opening is crisp. Light wear near the right bottom corner stop me from grading this even higher. A beautiful album that will stand proud in any high quality collection.

According to the legend, Karen Dalton - who has absolutely the single most expressive white female voice I have ever heard, comparing quite favorably to even Billie Holiday or Anita o'Day - - had to be tricked, coerced and cajoled into the recording studio by Fred Neil and Nick Venet in order to record her first album in 1968, and was so furious after she found out that the album was recorded unbeknownst to her, that she refused to enter the recording studio for another three years. This, her second - and last - recording session, is equally hermetic, expressive and sparse, but finds her surrounded by an incredibly competent group of musicians and shows her great love of the blues; nearly 80% of the tracks are blues and R&B covers. Judging by the effort and emotional strain she invested in this album, we would not be surprised to find out that Fred Neil (who wrote the liner notes) or Dino Valente (who wrote the lead track on side 1) again had to trick her into the studio. An indispensable, critical acid/psych folk listening experience.
