Description
Two years ago, I had the good fortune to buy the complete music collection of one of the two directors of the Australian label, Regular Records, including a huge storage space containing the entire Regular Records Archives. I sold a few odd items about a year ago, and the (huge!) balance has remained untouched...until now. It's time to get amongst it all and pull out some nice items...so here goes.
The Archives was loaded with master tapes, video masters, contracts, complete files on each artist...as well as mint copies of virtually EVERY vinyl, CD, and cassette release...PLUS...vinyl TEST PRESSINGS of every release...and this...is one of those test pressings.
ARTIST: KATE CEBERANO -
TITLES: A1. "BEDROOM EYES" (Extended Version)"
B1. "BEDROOM EYES"
B2. "KATE'S BLUES" .
FORMAT: …vinyl 12" single TEST PRESSING…
LABEL: (REGULAR) .
CAT. #: (X-)13373 .
DATE: 1989 .
PRESSED IN: AUSTRALIA .
Comes in plain white die-cut card sleeve...Has basic handwritten info on one label; the other is blank. This is the test pressing of the first cut of BOTH sides; it is NOT the cut of either side as used for the officially released 12".
The matrix numbers in the run-out grooves (between the end of the song and the edge of the label) on this 12" are: DMX 71791 R2A (plus it also has the words "cannibal vibrations..." [all lower case] engraved there too)...and on the 'B' side: DMX 71792 R2B
The matrix numbers on the eventual officially released 12" are: DMX 71791 R2B (plus it also has the words "Cannibal Vibrations..." [note upper case letters] engraved there too)...and on the 'B' side: DMX 71792 R2C
I will also include a copy of the officially released copy, with proper labels, and pic cover (complete with promo sticker)...so you can compare the two. See pix. (This extra 12" is mint too...cover is EX.)
There may exist one or two more of this T.P. elsewhere (ie, with Kate and her management), as there were 4 pressed - but this is one of only two copies of this test pressing I found in the entire Archives, here.
The co-producer of the record was famed UK producer Nick Launay, and his name and his address during his Sydney stay then (at Bondi Beach) are handwritten on the cover. I assume this T.P. was intended for him but never delivered.
CONDITION:
COVER / RECORD: ( - / MINT) ...as pristine and clean and perfectly shiny as the day it was pressed...the way you wish ALL your records were...
LABELS: ( Side One: MINT / Side Two: MINT )...
If you have any concerns about the accuracy of my gradings, please check my feedback for the odd nice comment from some satisfied folk out there.... (and hopefully you may be able to join their ranks).
==============================Thanks for considering this item...Cheers, Jules.
