MEGARARE and HARD-TO-FIND Ariola Records very first Stereo press released by Ariola Records, made and distributed in Chile in 1980 by Quatro Ltd. (Quatro Records), licensed from Ariola International Group, Germany, catalog number ARS 10.029, with hand etched matrix numbers ARS-10.029 A Z in Side A and ARS-10.029 B in Side B, with traditional silver/black Ariola Records labels. Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile!!!

“Theatre” was originally released in 1980 and the same year we got this single released here in Chile, which’s considered one of the rarest issues worldwide. Here in Chile they included two versions of the song, in Side A the version sung in Spanish and in Side B the version sung in French. So, the song title is written in Spanish in Side A and in French in Side B, with full credits for songwriters, translators, producers, arrangers, etc, with time of each time. As you can see in the pictures this single includes the original and correct generic Quatro black paper sleeve (sometimes this single has been offered with blue or pink Quatro sleeves, but they are not the correct sleeves, the black Quatro sleeve is). So, here you have the chance to get and own this MEGARARE single pressed in Chile with Katja Ebstein singing his hit “Theatre” in Spanish and French, a single ONLY RELEASED IN CHILE!!! WOW!!! A MUST TO HAVE!!!

The cover is in nice EX or even EX+ condition, complete, clear and clean, but with light wear, more evident in corners, with a little rip and creases, but no seam splits at all, a real miracle for this kind of so fragile cover. The record is in EX- or even EX condition both sides, glossy and clean, with light scuffs and hairlines, which of course don’t affect play. Labels on both sides are in great EX+ or NM- condition, clean and clear, with only very minimal spindle hole wear and the name of some past owner in Side A, with a mark written at left side of the song title. The sound is in strong EX- or EX condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, virtually no background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), with only light occasional crackles and some soft pops here and there, which of course don’t cause any distraction from the great sound this record keeps from the beginning to the end. Overall, this is a record maybe not for strict Minty minds or audiophiles, but if you know the level of rarity it has you already should know it’s A MUST TO HAVE, no matter the condition and this copy is even complete with the correct original generic black Quatro paper sleeve and as you can see in the pictures it keeps a nice glossy look, almost perfect labels and still a loud and clear sound quality after about 37 years, which won’t disappoint anyone!!! And don’t forget this single with these songs was only released here in Chile!!! Yes, Sirs, what a FIND!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the labels and cover in detail. WOW!!!

We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

SHIPPING (Packing and Postage)

We have an unique value worldwide:

GBP15 for weight until 1kg (usually 1 or 2 records 12" depending of thickness of the vinyl)

GBP25 for weight 1-2kg (usually 3-5 records 12")

GBP10 for one 7” record

All records will be packed outside of the sleeve to avoid damages in the cover and all records will be sent with tracking number via Small Packet or Parcel Post services.

FEEDBACK

We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive a positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.
