Description
Prestige Bluesville 1050, “Bog Road Blues” with K.C. Douglas, guitar and vocals; from 1962. Original blue-and-silver-label vinyl shows no marks other than light sleeve scuffs and plays at NM . The jacket is only VG, with heavy seamwear on upper and lower seams; the spine is fine with readable print; the jacket back is age-toned but basically clean; there is light ringwear; there is a short split (about 1” or 3 cm) on the bottom seam at opening. This set easily surpasses K.C.’s earlier Bluesville set with songs that include “Big Road Blues”, “Howling Blues”, “Move to Kansas City”, “Buck Dance”, “Tore Your Playhouse Down”, “Bottle Up and Go”, “Whiskey Headed Woman”, “Catfish Blues”, “K.C.’s Blues”, “Canned Heat”, and “Key to the Highway”. The psych band Canned Heat supposedly selected their name from this LP. Shipping is $4.00 media mail, $8.00 priority mail within the continental U.S.; $20.00 regular airmail to the U.K., Europe, Japan, Korea, and Australia; elsewhere inquire. Additional LPs in a single package are $1.00 per LP domestic, $2.00 elsewhere. For overseas shipments, I strongly recommend registered mail for $12.00 extra. Many old records are now practically antiques and should be treated that way. This LP will be packaged with the record inside an inner sleeve but outside the jacket; both are placed inside a sealed outer sleeve and shipped inside a special oversized handcrafted mailer with padding on all sides. It is designed thick enough not to be caught in a postal conveyor belt and strong enough to withstand a drop from a second-story window with no damage to LP or jacket. More than two LPs may be mailed together in a heavy Bags Unlimited pizza-style box. Your LP should arrive in the same condition as on the day it was shipped. All used LPs are play-graded on a VPI turntable with Audioquest tonearm and Grado cartridge
