Description
Rare LP by Keith Hudson - "Furnace". Original Jamaica pressing on Keith Hudson's own label Imbidimts released in 1972. Condition is Good (Cover - marker line on cover, tear/creases/left spine split)/VG- (Vinyl - marker line on Side 2 label, some scratches/scuffs). Plays with crackle/pops, music loud above. Paste on Songlist has come unglued but is included.

A masterful blend of soul and spirituality riding a backbone of solid instrumentals and dubs that are Keith's trademark. The tracks are backed by the earliest incarnation of the Soul Syndicate, boasting a crew that included Fully Fullwood. Carlton "Santa" Davis and Familyman Barrett. Val Bennett and Dizzy Moore handle the brass. These rhythms are progressive and ahead of its time. The opening tracks, Furnace and Tye Tye (nickname for Keith's son, Ricky) are blazing instrumentals that will keep your attention. The Soul "Now Sound" Syndicate blaze thru a dynamic cover of Hugh Masakela's Riot. Keith's groundbreaking vocals come into play on Don't Start It Up; a powerful plea for peace. Note: the original rhythm can be traced back to a rare Termites' single, "Show Me The Way". Keith was a master of finding rhythms and applying them in a dynamic way. Big Youth, Dennis Alcapone, and U-Roy all scored major hits with Keith's rhythms and production skills.
Grading Scale:
10: Mint Perfect record, clean gloss, no marks, beautiful in every way. Very few records will make mint.
9: Mint- Very clean, only a few light marks. A great record.
8: Excellent (VG++) Condition between 7 and 9.
7: VG+ Used, but not abused. Light scratches only. Should play, and look very nice with minimal surface noise.
6: VG Still a nice record. Looks a bit used, light scratches, no gouges, still plays well, some surface noise.
5: VG- A bit rough but will play ok. Fills the collection.
4: G Plays very rough. Has multiple scratches. What a bargain!!
