MEGARARE and HARD-TO-FIND Philips Records very first Stereo press released, made and distributed in Chile in 1975 by Discos Philips (Philips Records), licensed from Phonogram International B.V., through Philips Holland, originally released by Trojan Records England, catalog number 6078 307, with hand etched matrix numbers 6078-307-A EB-CD in Side A and 6078-307-B EB-CD in Side B, with traditional dark blue/silver Philips Records labels. It’s interesting to notice that in the deadwax of both sides it’s written the exact day of pressing, “20-10-75” (October 20rd of 1975). Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile!!!

This single was originally released in 1974 in the UK and we had to wait until late 1975 to see this single released here in Chile and as you can see in both labels it’s informed “A Trojan Recording”, but it’s licensed from Philips Records Holland and here in Chile we also got the same catalog number. Song titles are written in English only, with full credits for songwriters, time of each song and information about the licenses. WOW!!! A MUST TO HAVE for all fans and collectors of old reggae. How many times have you seen Chilean “Trojan Records” releases? Your own answer will tell you the real level of rarity of these records!!!

This record doesn’t have a cover. The record is in EX+ or even NM- condition both sides, glossy and clean, with only some soft scuffs hard to see at first sight, which don’t affect play at all. Labels on both sides are in great NM- or NM condition, clean and clear, with only minimal spindle hole wear, more evident in Side B. The sound is in great EX+ or even NM- condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, no background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), with only some soft crackles here and there barely audible, more evident at the end of each song, which don’t really affect the experience to listen and enjoy this record from the beginning to the end. Overall, this is a great record in this MEGARARE PRESS with still a great sound quality which will satisfy any serious collector of rare reggae music!!! And don’t forget this is the very first time this pressing is auctioned here in eBay!!! Yes, Sirs, what a FIND!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the labels and cover in detail. WOW!!!

We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

SHIPPING (Packing and Postage)

We have an unique value worldwide:

GBP15 for weight until 1kg (usually 1 or 2 records 12" depending of thickness of the vinyl)

GBP25 for weight 1-2kg (usually 3-5 records 12")

GBP10 for one 7” record

All records will be packed outside of the sleeve to avoid damages in the cover and all records will be sent with tracking number via Small Packet or Parcel Post services.

We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive a positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.
