COVER CONDITION : GENERIC presumably as issued, with two full scripts (EX, one page of each separated from staple).

VINYL CONDITION : EX hairlines & faint scuffs only, really nice, great gloss.

NOTES : circa 1963 advertising industry LP on private RAB (Radio Advertising Bureau) label. sophisticated pitch to radio networks promoting innovative uses of words and music in radio advertising. as spokesman for the RAB, nordine highlights the creative impact of commercials using MOONDOG for american airlines astrojet service, his own legendary fuller paint ad that inspired the COLORS LP on philips, as well as ground-breaking spots by stan freberg, stan getz, andy griffith, and mel brooks for companies including volkswagen, borden's ice cream, winston cigarettes, bankamericard, schick shaving cream, and many more. a very full listen start to finish… this copy includes the two elusive scripts originally enclosed : the “complete version” (8 pp) running 45 mins with 28 commercials, and the “shortened version” (6 pp) running 25 mins with 19 commercials. from the complete script, here is nordine on moondog : 

"in manhattan, a blind street-singer named moondog walks the downtown streets draped in serapes and blankets, and wearing a monk’s cowl on his head and rough leather sandals on his feet. moondog writes music and plays his own instruments. one foggy night in new york, he was recorded against the background of boat whistles on the hudson river. the instrument he plays is one he calls the oo. it is a triangular wooden frame, each leg of the triangle I about 18” long, with piano wire strung across and two triangular wooden drums. the oo is struck with a 6 inch wooden dowel. that recording stood in for san francisco on the commercial you just heard."

- for grading i use : M / NM / NM- / EX / VG++ / VG+ / VG / VG- / F graded under bright bare-bulb direct light… unless there are specific mentions of audio quality please consider grading as visual only.

- i pack very solid using new high quality heavy weight lp mailers with two (or more) new cardboard filler pads. all unsealed lps are shipped out of the cover, and new inner sleeves & polybags will be added when needed.
