LP is in Near Mint condition.
The thick lustrous vinyl is nearly flawless, without scuffs,or scratches of any kind.There a few inaudible sleeve marks. The fidelity is superb,with no distortion, pops, clicks,or background noise of any kind.
Jacket is in Near Mint condition. Original heavy and glossy jacket is in nice condition. There are virtually no marks, scuffs, or blemishes of any kind.There is very minor corner wear, as in image.This lp is stored in the original inner sleeve. Throughout his career, trumpeter Kenny Dorham became a bit famous for not being famous. Always cited as one of the most underrated players in jazz, Dorham had a very productive career that included periods in the big bands of Billy Eckstine, Dizzy Gillespie and Lionel Hampton and membership in the Charlie Parker Quintet, the original version of Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers and the Max Roach Quintet (right after Clifford Brown's tragic death). Dorham, who always had a distinctive sound and a forward-looking style, wrote "Blue Bossa" and helped to discover Joe Henderson who played in his group in the 1960s. Despite all of this, he never generated the headlines or attention of Dizzy Gillespie, Miles Davis, Clifford Brown or Lee Morgan, so he remains a talent well worth discovering. Jazz Contrasts from 1957 features him holding his own with tenor-saxophonist Sonny Roillins in a quintet with stirring versions of "I'll Remember April" and "Falling In Love With Love," and being accompanied by harpist Betty Glammann.on three songs that feature his lyrical and often-touching style. Everything on Jazz Contrasts is memorable.
