1963 Dot 45


The House On Haunted Hill was a Vincent Price movie in 1959, but it still must have provided some inspiration for teenage rockers when Kenny & The Fiends did this instrumental (part 1 & 2) for Princess Records back in 1963.  Just like the Surfaris, the group’s song was picked up by Dot and released nationally.

Tracks here are “House On Haunted Hill” parts 1 & 2. Listen for the guitarist and the rhythm section to have difficulty staying together at the start of the second verse of the song. It’s a rocky start, but they blaze on thru the tune anyway.  This version has a brief introduction that may not be on the Princess pressing.
