LP I have listened to the LP in its entirety at a high level and would grade it EX for sound. There are perhaps ten scattered soft ticks on the LP (nothing repetitive). I cleaned the LP fairly lightly, so some may be removed with a deeper clean. Unless you are a 'mint freak', you are unlikely to be disappointed. Visually, the LP is VG with some long faint hairlines, which as I say luckily don't sound too much.

Legendary session with great line up, including Henry Lowther, Les Condon and Derek Watkins on trumpets, Chris Pyne and Mike Gibbs on trombones, John Dankworth and Tony Koe on saxes, Dave Holland on bass and John McLaughlin on guitar. I understand that the master tapes were lost or destroyed.

As the LP comes under the category of 'heard of' but seldom heard', I will offer my opinion for what it's worth. It's played more or less continuosly - a kind of jazz 'tone poem' if you will. Apart from the magnificently poised flugel playing of Kenny Wheeler, I was especially impressed by the ensemble writing. There is also some wonderful solo work by Tony Coe and John McLaughlin in particular, plus a few hair-raising moments by Derek Watkins on lead trumpet. To my ears, the LP has a feeling of  carrying all before it - very much one to be played in its entirety.

Please note that all records are professionally cleaned on a Moth MKII Pro record-cleaning machine. The grooves are gently brushed with a dilute alcohol solution and a vacuum sucks away the residue, leaving a nice clean record -  greatly improving sonic performance and kind to your cartridge. This service is offered free of charge to all my Ebay customers.

NEAR MINT  visual inspection has revealed no scratches or scuffs on the playing surface. The  record may have ben played but is undamaged. The jacket will be clean and unmarked with only the slightest wear.

EXCELLENT visual inspection has revealed no scratches on the playing surface, but there may be a few non-sounding scuffs.  The jacket might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD visual inspection has revealed some light scratches and/or heavier scuffs - if these sound I will mention this in the listing.  The jacket might have creasing or other defects which will be pointed out in the listing.
