1st PRESS SHVL 800
Matrix no's : SHVL800 A-1 SHVL800 B-1
Visually the vinyl retains excellent sheen. Inspected under bright light there are lots of visible marks, predominantly hairlines and sleeve removal marks but also a few other more noticeable marks and blemishes - including a long mark on Track 1, side 2 which causes a series of recurring ticks, not loud but audible, for the second half of Track 1. Apart from that track the rest of the Lp plays fantastically well - certainly strong EX+ - full, clear vibrant audio so overall graded at EXCELLENT MINUS.
The YELLOW and GREEN HARVEST record labels are EXCELLENT - with little visible spindle wear.
The ORIGINAL quality TEXTURED card GATEFOLD PICTURE sleeve printed by GARROD & LOFTHOUSE is EXCELLENT MINUS - remains in great shape but has some minor edgewear and a few creasings and there is a 7cm tear to the opening on the inside of the gatefold which has been repaired inside the pouch with clear tape but otherwise this notoriously fragile textured sleeve is strong and the spine still remains strong and uncrushed and 100% legible.
All in all a really great copy of this classic KEVIN AYERS Lp.
