All songs Hillage or Hillage/Greenwood. Produced by Neil Slaven with a David Anstey sleeve. The band were; Steve Hillage ( also Arzachel, Gong, solo) - Guitar, vox, Nick Greenwood (ex crazy world of Arthur Brown) - bass, vox, Eric Peachy - drums, Dave Stewart (Arzachel, Egg, Hatfield and the North, National Health)   - organ, piano,  skyceleste, marimbas

It has the original elevated ridge around the circle of the label, indicating a first press. Some later presses do not have this and are far lighter in weight.

Although I would describe the music as heavyprog (and believe me Steve rips it up on the electric), there are some very spacey and quieter sections that feature Dave's soft organ playing and Steve on acoustic guitar. In fact, some folks have described this album as space rock, although I think there is far too much going on each composition to call this space rock. In general, each piece features an excellent blend of heavy riffing played in unison on the bass and the electric guitar; intricate ensemble work; and more relaxed passages that feature vocals. The six pieces are highly melodic and it is clear that they spent just as much time on the vocal melodies as the fancier instrumental passages. The tracks are not too long (by prog standards) and range in length from 5'32" to 9'22" - they are all well put together and arranged.

The absolute rarity of this album is not to be underestimated. It hardly ever surfaces nowadays. This is an absolutely gorgeous slab of early quality Deram vinyl which is in splendid EX condition!! This has a lovely deep glossy sheen!! Hauntingly beautiful songcraft!!! Immense quality prog album that ticks all the right boxes and one of my favourite albums of all time. I have twentyfive years experience in grading. It doesn't get much better than this!!

!!!!A VERY HARD FIND!!! Most have been bought up by collectors!! This is hardly offered these days!!

In all my years this is only the fourth time I have come across this PROGMONSTER. Sensational sound quality, I have played this through in its entirety and it was a great joy!!! NO skips or jumps. NO clicks or crackle, this is really a stunning heavy glossy jet black vinyl .The audio is impeccable. Inspected under an intense lightsource and angled.

Vinyl: EX+ .  A sensational find!!! I have played this in FULL twice over> The replay is ASTOUNDING!!! I first played for a general listen and a second time for a more detailed observation. Fantastic songcraft!! I am very glad to be able to report that this is a fine slab of vinyl without any problems at all and as such worthy of inclusion of any great prog collection. I liked all tracks but "Hollow Stone" stood out for me, esp. the final riff. I think that Mikael of "Opeth" must have listened to this album track a few times ... Of course NO jumps/clicks/skips etc. NO marks , NO hairlines etc.

 Sleeve: VG+.  This is the original gatefold sleeve and would have been EX if it weren't for the professionally repaired sticker tear on the top left.  All edges are dead straight and have hardly any wear. the spine is 100% legible and has no wear whatsoever, unique for this matt sleeve. The inside gatefold is NM. The opening is wonderfully crisp. Not even any scuffs or wear. On the back is a tiny (original) pricesticker of "Downtown Records" with their period logo. I have and would not attempt to remove this as i think it adds to the character of a unique collectible LP. This album has been very carefully looked after. No crease and only a light onset of ringwear. This sleeve is overall lovely !!!!
