Welcome! Here is a first German press of Khan Space Shanty (Brain Metronome 1019). Khan were Steve Hillage, Nick Greenwood, and Eric Peachey, and were joined here by Dave Stewart. This example, on the German green Brain label, has a stunning laminated gatefold sleeve, and is in outstanding condition throughout.

Matrix numbers and mother/stamper codes are:

Side 1: st-1019-A, with (0664 198 S1) directly underneath. All of this is scratched in. Also scratched in are the initials PF, presumably representing the mastering control guy. Lastly, for a mother/stamper, there is only a 1.

Side 2: st-1019-B, with 0664 198 S2 to the right instead of underneath, and not enclosed by parentheses. The PF initials are again present, along with the lonely mother/stamper 1.

Using the Record Collector grading system, what do we have here?

Sleeve: The laminated gatefold sleeve is Near Mint, with only a couple very minor laminate creases. The wide spine is strong, and there is NO corner wear. You could NOT improve on this!

Vinyl: The vinyl grades Near Mint, with only a couple wispy hairlines that of course do not affect play. Beautiful! Once again, you could not possibly find a better example.

Labels: There is a tiny white spot near the bottom of the B in Brain on the Side 2 label, representing an absence of ink. Both labels are otherwise pristine, with NO spindle tracking on either label!

Inner Sleeve: This album has what I believe is its original plain white plastic-lined inner sleeve, again in pristine condition.

And, in the end: This psych Canterbury masterpiece, rare on the UK Deram label, is at least as scarce on the German green Brain label. And, wow, the laminated German gatefold sleeve is AWESOME, much more impressive than the flat UK version. This example is fantastic in every department; you could not possibly upgrade this!
