So, up for auction is the Ultra Rare original Zimbabwean vinyl pressing of the Robson Banda & The New Black Eagles’ Dzinomwa Muna Save album that was released in 1985 with the orange and black Kumusha label, Cat No KSALP 110 and Matrix Nos KSALP 110 - A . [A side] and KSALP 110 - B . [B side, both hand - written]. Recorded at Shed Studios, Harare and marketed and distributed by Gramma Records, one of the larger record companies in Zimbabwe that did the same for many independent labels, it featured the following songs: Tracklist
A1 Dzinomwa Muna Save
A2 Mapoto
A3 Nyimbo Yakwatu
B1 Chingamidza
B2 Pane Vanhu
B3 Jana Rangu
B4 Huya Tishande
Made known to the avid Zimbabwean music fans worldwide due to the inclusion of two tracks from this very album “Nyimbo Yakwasu" [A3] and "Dzinomwa Muna Save” [A1] in the classic compilations of the genre Zimbabwe Frontline [1988, Earthworks] and Spirit Of The Eagle (Zimbabwe Frontline Vol. 2) [1990, Earthworks] respectively, Robson Banda & The New Black Eagles introduced a new, dance-inspiring sound that mixed the up-tempo mbira - based rhythms with Congolese and Zimbabwean dance in great tracks ranging from sweet lilting guitar licks to fast - paced picking! Formed in 1979 and emerging during the peak of jit's popularity in the mid - '80s, Robson Banda - a Congolese musician who sung his music in Shona language - and The New Black Eagles brought a new musical sensibility to the music of this country coming out of the same wave of Zimbabwe's guitar-driven dance music as many of the names that made it big in the West - Thomas Mapfumo, the Bhundu Boys and the Four Brothers! Sad but true, Robson Banda [1979-98] and three more members of The New Black Eagles - Job Mteswa [1979-96], Biggie Phiri [1979-2000] and Daniel Zande [1979-98] - do not live today…This copy for sale is the original Zimbabwean first - and last - press issue, with original labels and original identification numbers. This, unavailable for more than 30 years and RARELY SEEN on eBay in ANY condition, excellent record has become highly-prized by collectors and a must have item for every devoted fan of African music. So, do not miss …
PS 1 To my knowledge, ONLY ONE copy until now has been sold on eBay - a record in reasonable tidy condition that did not have any major scratches into a cover somewhat dust dirty with rubbing to the edges, according to the seller - for US $32.00 ... 3 years ago, on May of 2014.
PS Sorry for the quality, but when you get something so rare, you take what you can get!
Before bidding, please take the time to read about my selling policy and shipping costs at the end of this listing!
