PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Original first 1965 pressing in thick cover of a killer fuzz garage raver...These are THE SHAYS and their lead singer is the growling shouting shouter David Clayton Thomas who went on to fame with Blood Sweat And Tears - but hold on - be sure this is no Blood Sweat And Tears... The Shays turn it on with a tight formidable FUZZ GUITAR driven attack and singer Thomas is on fire ::::
YES - This is VERY surprisingly great garage driven R&B rock LP, with good fuzz guitar breaks. Who would have EVER guessed?
DAVID CLAYTON THOMAS first public show was in '63 at Toronto's Bluenote Club at the age of 18, under the stage name 'Sonny Thomas.' But within a year, he'd changed his name to David Clayton-Thomas, and his band Boom Boom had changed their name to The Fabulous Shays, then simply The Shays. They recorded a string of singles over the several months and this really great lp, but when tracks like "No No No" on Roulette and "Sing A Song" on Columbia failed to make a dent on the charts. Thomas soon left the group for brief stints in Ronnie Hawkins and The Hawks and The Rogues.
David Clayton Thomas and The Shays a GoGo was released in 1965 and displays the influence of British Invasion r&b/blues bands like The Rolling Stones and The Yardbirds. Highlights are all over (it's very solid) "Take Me Back," is a great up-tempo rocker featuring a nice, fuzzy solo by guitarist "Keeler" who shines throughout this LP. "Barbie Lee," also by Thomas, is a more conventionally bluesy number with another scorching Keeler solo, and "Good Lovin'" (not The Rascals hit) is an r&b number played at a breakneck pace, with really nimble work on organ and bass by Fleming and Richards. And "Boss Man," by Bo Diddley, a wild rendition, is our favourite tune on this extremely solid album, a slightly longer groove number that gives Thomas a chance to stretch out his vocal chords with a full complement of shouts, growls and slurs.

CONDITION: The cover: Thick cardboard cover in pretty strong shape considering a teen scene rarity from nearly 50 years ago ...rated VG++ has still fresh original colors, and only very slight wear - looks like a collection item for sure ...no delete marks, no split seams, no bends, and no writing ...
The vinyl: even better comes this smooth playing platter, rated "EX" (excellent) to M- expect play grade to be with very enjoyable audio...NO distracting surface problems ... both Roman labels are clean
