This is an original UK FIRST PRESSING of the ridiculously rare and classic prog monster of an LP IN THE COURT OF THE CRIMSON KING by KING CRIMSON. The outside of this magnificent gate fold sleeve has edge ware all round and damage to both the front and back please double click the pictures and have a good long look at this. The inside of the gate fold is totally immaculate, beautiful. The original inner sleeve is present. Double click the pictures and have a look at those beautiful textured pink island ridged labels.Note the STEREO ISLAND RECORDS lettering around the edge of the labels. About 4 mm in you will see a ridge .The matrix numbers and that ridge prove this to be one of the rare earliest pressings . Later pressings had smooth labels with a beveled edge. The vinyl has a lot of hairlines to both sides and there is a lot of surface noise. The track Epitaph has loud clicks for the first 2 or 3 minutes that subsides after that. This LP plays through ENTIRELY without jumps or sticking I have owned this for years and had a lot of enjoyment from it and there is still plenty of enjoyment to be had from this. Expect crackle and clicks and pops in the quieter parts (and there are plenty quiet parts on this LP) the louder tracks like 21th century schizoid man play flawlessly. Due to the damaged sleeve and the way this record plays I grade it as Good . It is a rare FIRST PRESSING and it plays all the way through say 6.5 out of 10.
