Issue : RARE TEXTURED LABEL PINK RIM PRESS
This is a rare UK early press of 'In The Court Of The Crimson King' by King Crimson. This rare textured label press is complete with the early A3//B3 matrix, the heavy early vinyl, the textured pink rim label and the earliest lightweight bright EJ Day gatefold sleeve. This is the rare earliest EJ Day sleeve, it is not the lighter pink Robor Ltd later press.
The record is in Good condition. The vinyl is still jet black, with a superb bright gloss. The vinyl has a couple of small marks and a few hairlines and there is also a little wobble, although there is no audible heat damage.
The rare textured label is in Excellent condition. It is exceptionally bright and completely clean. The white is superb, the text is sharp and the pink is vivid. There is the slightest spindle wear.
When played the sound is vibrant and complete with the original bold audio separation. There is a little noise in the quieter moments and a couple of clicks on the marks but nothing significant that spoils the enjoyment of this rare press. The sound is rich and clear.
The EJ Day gatefold bright sleeve is in Very Good condition. This earliest sleeve is delicate and is easily worn, but this is a solid example. It is clean with the original vivid colours and sharp lines. The inside is clean and bright with just a little wear - the white lyrics are clear and the image is unworn. There is light edge and corner wear. The rear of the sleeve has slight ring wear but is still extremely bright.
