King Crimson 'In The Court Of The Crimson King' 1970 UK vinyl album on the Island pink rim Palm tree label, catalogue number ILPS 9111 (stereo)
The numbers and letters stamped on the vinyl are:- Side 1: ILPS 9111 A-4U 2 PL Side 2: ILPS 9111 B-4U 2 LP
This is a heavy vinyl and it is not warped. When viewed under a bright light I can only see very fine superficial surface scratches on both sides due to bag movement and there is nothing I can feel with light fingertip touch. The playing surfaces on both sides retain a high gloss finish and the record plays smoothly and clearly all the way through with just the bare minimum of surface sound on the non recorded and quieter sections (there is the slightest of light crackle now and then on 'Moonchild', but it's not a spoiler) - overall the audio is brilliant. There are no sticks, no skips, no jumps and very little lessening of the sound quality compared to new.
The track titles can be seen on the label photographs. The labels have some light spindle lines and there are a few brown spots on Side 1 label - no writing, no damage.
The cover is a gatefold type made from a stiff card which does not have any laminate or coating (it was printed in England by Robor Limited). The front surface is excellent with just a few small barely visible creases towards the edges - the back is very similar with just the slightest trace of surface rub wear. There is very little rub wear on the edges and corners. The centre piece is in almost as new condition.
The spine is very square and in good shape with just a little rub wear on the bottom corner and a little rub wear on the edge which joins the front just above the Island catalogue text. All of the text on the spine is completely and clearly readable. The inner sleeve is plain cream, not lined, it just has a patent number and 'Made In Great Britain' printed on it - no seam splits, no tears, just a few light creases.
I have checked the Record Collector grading system and I would say that the gatefold is 'excellent+', the record is visually 'excellent' and the audio is at least 'excellent', probably better.
I have described this as carefully and honestly as possible, but it is a no return item so please bid accordingly.
It will be packed in a strong record mailing box with two pieces of card inside for further protection.
