Description

King Crimson – In The Court Of The Crimson King (Island ILPS-9111), a great copy of the superb 1969 debut album from the cult progressive rock band, featuring such luminaries as guitarist Robert Fripp and bassist Greg Lake, and the record often labeled as the first prog rock album.

This is an original edition of the LP, with the matrix numbers A-2 on Side 1, and B–3 on Side 2, and the pink ‘i’ Island label, suggesting that this is a very early pressing of the record. The vinyl is in very good condition, with some surface noise and slight crackle to be heard, but it does boast a lovely, crisp, clear sound; there are some light marks on the vinyl but these do not really affect the sound quality. The gatefold sleeve is also in very good condition, although there is some wear around the edges and the corners, and some small marks on the front, to the left hand side, but the cover, featuring that striking image, is generally very clean. The record comes complete with a plain white inner bag. On the whole, this is a lovely copy of a much-sought after album, and it’s with much, much regret that I’m actually selling it, so this is an excellent opportunity to get your hands on such a rare item.
