KING CRIMSON - IN THE WAKE OF POSEIDON- 1970 - FIRST UK ISSUE ALBUM - ILPS9217 - IN EXCELLENT CONDITION ON THE ISLAND PINK LABEL
This is a UK first issue from 1970 in stereo on the Island Records label, cat. no. ILPS9217 Matrix 9217 A2 /ILPS9217 B2
Vinyl: GOOD. The vinyl is good , with some marks, consistent with a GOOD ONLY grading.
Labels: EXCELLENT. Labels are in great condition with no markings. There is no spindle wear.
Sleeve: VERY GOOD MINUS. The gatefold sleeve is worn, as the pictures show, but undamaged and complete, and graded a VG minus.
On the original first issue Island Records White 'I' Label from 1970, (first issue of this album)
With a low start price you could get yourself a real bargain.
This record has been cleaned with my VPI 16.5 vacuum record cleaner using Art du Son record cleaning fluid.
I have played it through to check it on my high end Garrard 401 record deck, with SME 3009 tonearm and Grado cartridge.
And it is in super sounding condition, no skips, jumps or static.
I have been using the Record Collector grading system below as a guide to condition.
I have owned this since new, but am down-sizing my collection, so grab a bargain!

RECORD COLLECTOR MAGAZINE GRADING:
Excellent (EX ) The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
Very Good (VG) The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects is acceptable.
Good (G) The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc
As a general rule, a mint record will be 100% perfect, an excellent record will be in fantastic clean condition with the occasional mild mark and minor use from the years, and a very good record will have noticeable, yet light visual markings and obvious signs of age and use, but will still remain clean with relatively light wear and will play fantastically well with plenty of life remaining in it.
