After the astonishing groundbreaking magnificence of their debut album, how could this ever be followed up? – well the answer, they thought, was to issue another similar album again. Unfairly, this was not given the same adulation as the first by the critics of the day, that labelled it as another ‘In the Court of’. Sure I can see the similarities especially on side one – the formula of a loud first track, quieter second and epic third that follow the same format, but all the songs are treasures in their own right. Side two does vary more: after the somewhat bizarre ‘Cat Food’, that features brilliant piano work by Keith Tippet, it becomes awesomely powerful and compelling, as ‘The Devil’s Triangle’ instrumental builds with ferocious intensity with heavy use of the magnificent Mellotron. This incredible keyboard instrument is blasted to its limits by Fripp with an intensity that was probably never matched. Unfairly underrated in my opinion, ‘Poseidon’ is simply another Crimson classic. Beautifully packaged too (apart from maybe the use of silver ink inside that is always hard to see properly). It has one of the deepest textured covers ever, the front and back almost resemble oil on canvas and hence (sorry to mention it again) this is one of the most wear prone rock covers ever made.

Weight of the vinyl: An ultra heavy 145 gr.!!! (Far heavier than later re-issues). The vinyl version of a Rolls Royce, this oozes quality. Rarely found as a genuine first press these days!!

THE STEREO REPRODUCTION IS SUPERB AND EVERY NOTE IS HEARD CLEARLY AND CRISPLY. THERE IS NO "FRYING BACON" OR SERIOUS BACKGROUND CRACKLING AT ALL ANYWHERE!! NEEDLES TO SAY, NO STICKS OR JUMPS!

On offer here is a very rare LP (especially in this condition!!!!) by King Crimson called '' and is a UK ORIGINAL 1st pressing!!!!  This is an Pink "I" Island UK 1st pressing from 1970 and is in GREAT condition!!!! The record is pressed on THICK quality vinyl.

     The absolute rarity of this album is not to be underestimated. It hardly ever surfaces nowadays. This is an absolutely gorgeous super heavy slab of early quality ISLAND vinyl which is in great  condition with just a few hairlines!! This has a lovely deep glossy sheen!! Hauntingly beautiful songcraft!!! Immense quality heavy/prog album that ticks all the right boxes and incredibly hard to find. I have twentyfive years experience in grading. It doesn't get much better than this!!

You won't easily find this ultra rare LP !!! It is a genuinely very scarce item that will shoot up in price, esp. since Chinese collectors are also starting to get in now. Get it while you still can!

!!!!A VERY HARD FIND!!! Most have been bought up by collectors!! This is hardly offered these days, leave alone in this stunning condition!!

 Sensational sound quality, I have played this through in its entirety and it was a great joy!!! NO skips or jumps. NO clicks or crackle, this is really a stunning heavy glossy jet black vinyl .The audio is fantastic. Inspected under an intense lightsource and angled.

Vinyl: VG++  to EX.  A sensational find!!! I have played this in FULL twice over> fantastic audio, a joy to listen to!! This is the true official 1st press.  I first played for a general listen and a second time for a more detailed observation. Only a few faint hairlines, not impacting the great audio. I would say that the audio is actually EX. This vinyl retains its fabulous deep glossy sheen and has clearly been looked after. A top vinyl!! Fantastic songcraft!! I am very glad to be able to report that this is a fine slab of vinyl without any problems at all and as such worthy of inclusion of any great prog collection.   Of course NO jumps/clicks/skips etc.

Sleeve:  VG++ to EX.  A super gatefold sleeve. The most heavily textured sleeve on Island in itself a work of art. The textured face and back of the sleeve or quite surprisingly totally unworn, absolutely lovely. The front has NO creases at all. The back has a couple of miniscule creases, hardly visible. Light edge and spine wear as indicated in the pictures. 

Labels: EX. These are really nice. A few small initials (m.w.?)on both.
