WELCOME TO MY LATEST FEW LISTINGS THIS YEAR - I HAVE BEEN COLLECTING RECORDS SINCE 1969 AND HAVE OVER 3,000 ALBUMS AND 1,000 SINGLES, THE MAJORITY OF WHICH ARE ALL IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. I SOMETIMES LIST ON EBAY ANY DUPLICATE COPIES OR RECORDS I NO LONGER LISTEN TO. PLEASE NOTE MY 100% FEEDBACK, I OFFER DETAILED DESCRIPTIONS AND NUMEROUS PICTURES OF THE RECORD AND SLEEVE PLUS PLAYBACK CONDITION AFTER LISTENING AGAIN TO THE WHOLE ALBUM.

ANYWAY, HERE WE HAVE : KING CRIMSON, IN THE WAKE OF POSEIDON 1970 ALBUM UK 1ST PRESS VINYL, LIGHTLY PLAYED VINYL IN EXCELLENT PLUS CONDITION. THIS SOUNDS SUPERB, HARDLY ANY BACKGROUND CRACKLE HEARD AT ALL. TEXTURED GATEFOLD SLEEVE IN VERY GOOD PLUS CONDITION. A GREAT COPY OF A FANTASTIC PROG RECORD.
FIRST PRESSING VINYL : CAREFULLY PLAYED WITH SOME SPINDLE MARKS. A LOVELY SHEEN, IN EXCELLENT CONDITION WITH NO OBVIOUS MARKS ON THE RECORD. THE SOUND QUALITY IS IN SUPERB EXCELLENT PLUS AUDIO CONDITION. I HAVE PLAYED THIS ALL THE WAY THROUGH AFTER CLEANING AND HEARD VIRTUALLY NO BACKGROUND CRACKLE AT ALL. EVEN THE VERY QUIET INTRO TO THE DEVIL'S TRIANGLE ON SIDE 2 HAS NO CRACKLE AT ALL. THIS SOUNDS SUPERB.
FIRST ISSUE HEAVILY TEXTURED GATEFOLD SLEEVE MADE BY E.J. DAY AND CO. LTD : IN VERY GOOD PLUS CONDITION WITH JUST A LITTLE EDGE WEAR, NO CORNER CREASES, VIRTUALLY NO RINGWEAR. THE SPINE IS LEGIBLE, BUT WITH SOME SLIGHT RUBBING ON THE TEXTURED EDGES. A VERY NICE SLEEVE.

ORIGINAL POLY-LINED PAPER INNER SLEEVE : AS PICTURED VERY GOOD CONDITION. I HAVE CLEANED THE RECORD AND PLACED IT IN A NEW INNER.

Tracklist (above), wrong and incomplete, but resulting from inner cover layout text, text form (tracks titles in capitals) and, unequivocally, from side B label, can be considered of historical significance for early UK issues, as side B apparently begins with an untitled 'hidden track'.

B1 'Peace-A Theme' was absent as a title on all UK early issues (no mention of it on cover and label), but it appeared (on cover and label) as track '1' on some first issues outside UK (e.g.US Atlantic King Crimson - In The Wake Of Poseidon ) and on many more reissues.
B1 position was taken here by ‘Cat Food’ instead.
Actual B3 ‘The Devil's Triangle’ did not appear on record cover and label as a main title including subtitles (a,b,c), but as an indipendent track ('2' on label); the 3 subtitles (also looking like indipendent instrumentals) were numbered '3'.,'4'.,'5'. on label.
‘Peace-An End’ was '6' on label, but it should have been track '4'.
Only German Stateside 1970 release King Crimson - In The Wake Of Poseidon , among early issues, seems to show on side B label the complete and real sequence, correct timings included. More info on 'release history'.

(There are two similar Pink i labels UK releases: King Crimson - In The Wake Of Poseidon also pressed by Phonodisc Ltd. and King Crimson - In The Wake Of Poseidon with textured labels, pressed by Orlake Records).
The first UK pressing of this A1/B1 matrix contains withdrawn version of 'In The Wake Of Poseidon (Including Libra's Theme)', which is longer than that of later pressings (8'26" vs. 7'56").
This longer version was reissued for the first time in CD as a part of 40th Anniversary Set from UK, US, and Japan in 2010.
