Labels are the sensational PINK ISLAND format in excellent ++ condition. With the white i ISLAND logo below the central holes on both labels to confirm that this is the very first issue of this magnificent rarity. Has a few minor spindle lines that would indicate that the vinyl has not been played very much at all!!!There is NO damage of any kind!! NO graffiti, NO rips NO tears or stickers and in excellent++ condition.

Vinyl

Thickly pressed heavy weight  vinyl pressing with jet black mirrior like surfaces That have that just pressed look!!. A magnificent vintage classic. Against a strong halogen light and angled at 45 degrees There are NO surface marks, NO scratches or blemishes at all!! Only possibly 2 tiny wispy lines are visible whatsoever!!! . A remarkable visual and impossible to locate even in this in this condition!!! and would therefore grade as excellent++ /- mint!!!

Sleeve

First issue matt finished e j day patents pending gatefold sleeve is showing only mild signs of storage wear, with some wear at the corners. The sleeve has NO ring wear, NO rips, NO tears and absolutley NO graffitti whatsoever,and is a pleasure to view.The sleeve is in very good+++  condition and a Fantastic collectors item . The Spine is perfectly straight but mildly scuffed, therefore the text is only partly legible. This is a fine example of this sensational PINK ISLAND classic .(under further inspection there is a sticker removal tear to the top right front of sleeve... see pic's)

IN THE COURT OF THE CRIMSON KING... (an observation by King Crimson) is the 1969 debut album by the British progressive rock group King Crimson. The album reached #3 on the British charts. The album is certified gold in the United States.[1]

The album is generally viewed as one of the strongest of the progressive rock genre, where blues-oriented rock was mixed together with jazz and European symphonic elements. In his 1997 book Rocking the Classics, critic/musicologist Edward Macan notes that In the Court of the Crimson King "may be the most influential progressive rock album ever released."[2] The Who's Pete Townshend was quoted as calling the album "an uncanny masterpiece".[3]

The album was remastered and re-released on vinyl and CD several times during the 1980s and 1990s. The original stereo master tapes were finally located in a Virgin Records storage vault in 2003, leading to a much improved remastered CD version released in 2004.

Barry Godber (1946–1970), an artist and computer programmer, painted the album cover. Godber died in February 1970 of a heart attack, shortly after the album's release. It would be his only painting, and is now owned by Robert Fripp.[4][5] Fripp had this to say about Godber:

Peter brought this painting in and the band loved it. I recently recovered the original from EG's offices because they kept it exposed to bright light, at the risk of ruining it, so I ended up removing it. The face on the outside is the Schizoid Man, and on the inside it's the Crimson King. If you cover the smiling face, the eyes reveal an incredible sadness. What can one add? It reflects the music

MINT (M): Unplayed, pristine condition, often still sealed.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in almost brand new condition with no apparent surface marks, full original vinyl lustre, and no deterioration in sound quality.The cover and any extra items are in near perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and/or packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record obviously has been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover and/or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has deteriorated noticeably, perhaps with some distortion and/or scratches. The cover and/or contents may suffer from folding, scuffing, spine-splits, major discolouration, etc.
