Description
King Crimson - In The Court Of The Crimson King
(Island Records ILPS 9111 UK LP 1969)
This is a 1969 UK Pink Island 1st pressing LP in great overall condition.
It has a heavyweight matte gatefold sleeve.
The sleeve has the "Printed and Made by E.J. Day, London". text printed on the inner gatefold. This is at the bottom edge area near the spine.
The sleeve has the "Island Records Ltd., Basing Street, London W11" address on the inner gatefold too. It comes with its original generic polythene-lined company paper inner sleeve.
The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has smooth "Pink Island" labels. These have the "White i" logo on them. The record has 1st press matrix numbers. These are machine stamped in the dead wax. These are:
Side 1: ILPS 9111 A-2 1 2 5
Side 2: ILPS 9111 B-3 1 1 6 (C 1 1)
This is a genuine 1969 1st pressing with the near earliest A-2/ B-3 matrix numbers. These are quite rare.
Gatefold Sleeve:
Vinyl: The vinyl still gleams. It really is a nice copy which has been fully tested played and there’s a great play back.
This sleeve is extremely prone to wear.
This copy is very nice and clean overall. The sleeve has shelf wear, a sticker pull top front of cover, but it’s pretty decent for its age.
