KING CRIMSON.  In The Court Of The Crimson King. Island ILPS-9111. 1969.  This copy is on the Pink Rim Palm Tree Island label A-4U B-4U complete with EJ Day sleeve

Superb condition early copy of this classic LP.

VINYL: EX+

VINYL (Visual) ~ EX+. The vinyl visually grades at EX+. The record still retains it’s full deep gloss and is in superb condition on both sides. There are just a few very feint hairline marks which can only be seen under an extremely bright halogen light.  The record still retains wispy traces of vinyl in the centre hole which is often a good sign that the record has been played very little.

VINYL (Audio Playback) EX+ in a word, Superb.  Just the most minimal of surface noise, no nasty clicks or pops, just pure bright and clear sound.  Even the track moonchild plays back with virtually no surface noise, a truly good copy even for the discerning audiophile.  

LABELS ~ EX+ Both labels are clean with no writing or significant defects.   When held to light it is possible to see a light amount spindle marks near the centre hole, but very nice condition labels both sides!

OUTER SLEEVE. ~ EX (one blemish to the top right that has been repaired)

The original Matt finish sleeve manufactured by E J Day with Island label credit inside the gatefold grades at EX.  Overall it grades at EX although it would be more like EX+ or NM if it were not for one area of damage to the top right hand corner of the front cover where a piece of tape has been added with an area of repair about the size of a fingernail where the sleeve has been coloured in pink (please see photos).  Other than this the sleeve is in superb shape with no other damage of any note and no writing, splits or marks. 

INNER SLEEVE. 

This is the original lined inner sleeve.  It is the pale blue island inner sleeve, complete with island “i” credit in the bottom centre of the sleeve.  Polylined.

Overall a fabulous copy despite a small area of damage to the front sleeve, which has been improved by some fairly crude restoration.  The vinyl is in truly wonderful condition, a real gem.

All records are been placed in a separate poly lined inner and stored flat outside the sleeve and then placed sealed in a re-sealable polythene outer prior to shipping.  Records are then placed between square cardboard sheets before packaging into cruciform mailers especially designed for LP’s
