KING CRIMSON - IN THE WAKE OF POSEIDON

Extremely hard to find earliest UK 1st press especially in such brilliant and barely played condition as this

Near mint (NM) condition vinyl - weighty, completely flat, retaining it's original jet black sheen, gleaming, and unmarked!! Even with very close inspection under a bright light I am unable to detect any marks at all - amazing, especially for a 56 year old slab on vinyl such as this! The labels are in similarly near mint (NM) condition - pristine with not even the usual one or two very faint rogue spindle trails. Clearly this is a record that has been barely played (a few times at most) and meticulously looked after.  An excellent (EX) condition 1st press heavily textured outer gatefold sleeve - such an iconic sleeve and so rare to find an original in such excellent condition as this still. Firm edges with some intermittent light scuffing on the bottom edges (slightly more so on the bottom front edge) and the odd scuff mark and "nick" on the top front edge and spine, which itself remains firm with spine text intact and legible though the letter "C" in "CRIMSON" is partially obscured (see photos). Nicely defined right angled corners with barely any rubbing, firm opening edges with no fraying, and all colours, iconic art work and text remaining in great condition with perfect definition still. There is no ringwear or unwanted writing and the interior of the gatefold is near perfect. There are a couple of very small and very light handling/storage marks towards the front-side bottom left corner and the reverse side bottom edge but these are non-obvious and nothing really. Eminently presentable still and hard to believe that this outer sleeve is 56 years of age!  Near mint (NM) stereo sound quality with no sticks, skips, repeats, distortion, clicks or background crackle - wonderful tone and crystal clear stereo reproduction with terrific sound quality throughout. In summary, absolutely flawless audio quality!!  Comes with original very good plus (VG+) condition poly-lined "PLASTIC BAGS CAN BE DANGEROUS" outer sleeve with no edge splits, some minor age discolouration towards two of the edges, and a single crease in the bottom right corner. Note that I always ship the vinyl in a new plain white inner sleeve in order to protect the original.
A superb condition copy of this 1970 UK 1st press original prog gem - try finding a better one!

Note that I always insert the vinyl into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the outer sleeve to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these precious records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me.
