KING CRIMSON - IN THE WAKE OF POSEIDON
A superb, sparingly played copy of this King Crimson prog classic with stupendous stereo sound quality throughout
Year/Label : 1970 UK ISLAND Label number : ILPS 9127 Matrix numbers : ILPS 9127 A//1, ILPS 9127 B//1 Stampers : 1 3 2 / 1 2 2Excellent pus (EX+) condition vinyl - completely flat, weighty and retaining a beautiful jet black lacquered sheen with earliest UK press "A//1 B//1" matrices. In normal daylight each side of the vinyl comes across as completely unmarked and even with close scrutiny under a bright light I am unable to identify even a wispy hairline or paper scuff - amazing! I am sure that many would grade the condition of the vinyl as "near mint". The labels are in similarly excellent plus (EX+) condition - with close inspection it is possible to identify a few extremely faint spindle trails adjacent to the centre hole on each label, otherwise perfect! Clearly this is a record that has been sparingly played and meticulously looked after. Again, excellent plus (EX+) condition non-laminated and heavily textured iconic E.J. Day outer gatefold sleeve with firm and unscuffed edges (how rare is that for this LP?!), a rigid non-flattened spine (with just a few tiny "nicks" only) with all spine text remaining perfectly intact, near perfectly defined right angled corners with barely any rubbing at all on each, no cardboard creasing, firm opening edges with no fraying, no unwanted writing and all text and beautiful art-work remaining vibrant, crisp, with perfect definition still and all wonderfully intact. The fragility of these heavily textured UK 1st press gatefold sleeves cannot be overstated so to be in condition as truly impressive as this is indeed rare : this iconic 70's gatefold sleeve remains fully functional, eminently presentable and hard to believe that it is now 55 years of age! Superb, near mint (NM) stereo sound quality with no sticks, skips, repeats, distortion, clicks or background crackle - wonderful tone and crystal clear stereo reproduction with brilliant hard-to-fault stereo sound quality throughout. Comes with original excellent (EX) condition poly-lined, correctly dated inner sleeve with no side splits, no tears or edge fraying, no obvious age discolouration, and just a single diagonal mild crease at the bottom right corner. Note that I always ship the vinyl (in this case vinyls) in a new plain white inner sleeve in order to protect the original. Surely there cannot be many copies of this UK 1st press King Crimson prog gem in better condition than this.

Note that I always insert the vinyl into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the outer sleeve to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these precious records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me.
