KING CRIMSON "In The Wake Of Poseidon" UK 1st PRESSING
1970 1st Pink Island A1/B1, EJ DAY GF, STUNNING AUDIO

KING CRIMSON
In The Wake Of Poseidon

HERE WE HAVE A SUPERB, UK ISLAND (ILPS 9127) VERY FIRST PRESSING (May 1970) OF KING CRIMSON'S TREMENDOUS SECOND LP, "In The Wake Of Poseidon"

PRESSED ON QUALITY HEAVYWEIGHT VINYL WITH AN IMPRESSIVE CUT WHICH SOUNDS ABSOLUTELY STUNNING, THE ALBUM HAS THE FIRST PINK ISLAND LABELS WITH THE FIRST PRESS MATRIX: ILPS 9127 A//1, ILPS 9127 B//1 AND IS HOUSED IN THE ORIGINAL, HEAVILY TEXTURED GATEFOLD SLEEVE "Printed and made by the E. J. Day Group, London and Bedford" WITH INTERNALLY PRINTED LYRICS IN SILVER LETTERING

Track Listing:
Side 1: Peace - A Beginning / Pictures Of A City / Cadence And Cascade / In The Wake Of Poseidon
Side 2: Catfood / The Devil's Triangle / Peace - An End

LABELS: BEAUTIFULLY CLEAN and BRIGHT with minimal wear, NO marks or writing and only a few light spindle traces evident when angled under a bright light. THIS COPY HAS NOT BEEN OVERPLAYED AT ALL
VINYL Visual: The surfaces have their original DEEP, LIKE NEW, GLOSSY SHEEN and are practically UNMARKED
VINYL Audio: SUPERB - CRYSTAL CLEAR, VERY SHARP and EXTREMELY STRONG. The LP plays BEAUTIFULLY throughout with NO scratches, skips or jumps, barely any clicks/pops (really, hardly ANY) and only the slightest touch of surface noise on the very, very quiet and beautiful intros to Side One, ' Peace - A Beginning' and the uncredited acoustic 'Peace Theme' intro to Side Two. The whole LP sounds absolutely STUNNING and plays to an extremely high standard with SUPERB AUDIO CLARITY, NO groove-wear and NO distortion. Must be graded at least an EXCELLENT+ or audio and NOT over-graded in ANY way as I use STRICT RECORD COLLECTOR grading standards (please refer to my feedback and 'about me' page). A BEAUTIFUL COPY AND I THINK YOU WOULD BE HARD PRESSED TO ONE SOUNDING FINER
SLEEVE: The original textured gatefold sleeve (printed by EJ DAY) is in EXCELLENT (-) condition - CLEAN, BRIGHT and UNMARKED but due to its matte, untreated, easily worn nature it does display spine wear, some (very) light surface rubbing and 'feathering' to the opening edge but overall an extremely well preserved original sleeve and certainly one of the better examples I have seen

PLEASE HAVE A LOOK AT MY PICTURES - I USUALLY TAKE QUITE A FEW SO YOU CAN GET A CLEAR INDICATION OF EVERY DETAIL OF THE ITEM
I HAVE UPLOADED AS MANY PICTURES AS I CAN BUT I WOULD BE MORE THAN HAPPY TO SUPPY ANY ADDITIONAL PHOTOS ON REQUEST
THIS REALLY IS A BEAUTIFUL COPY AND AS THE VERY FIRST, MAY 1970 UK PRESSING - MUCH SOUGHT AFTER AND INCREASINGLY SCARCE
AS WITH ALL MY RECORDS THIS HAS A LOW START PRICE AND NO RESERVE
PLEASE CHECK OUT MY OTHER AUCTIONS FOR MORE RARE AND COLLECTABLE VINYL
AND PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE TO CONTACT ME WITH ANY QUERIES YOU MAY HAVE
THANKS FOR LOOKING, CHEERS
