KING CRIMSON ~ In The Wake of Poseidon 1st UK LP pink “i” label A1 B1

KING CRIMSON In The Wake of Poseidon. Island Records ILPS 9127. 1970

Nice condition first edition with A1 B1 matrix and pink “i” label. This set is in well above average condition for what is at the best of times, a tricky album to find in decent condition.

Grading: -

Outer Sleeve:  EX-

The outer gatefold sleeve exhibits relatively mild wear for this sleeve which is often found in poor condition with lots of rubbing and frayed edges.  This copy has a light to moderate amount of wear to the edges and spine but has no worrying faults and for me, this is a copy that most discerning collectors would find perfectly acceptable. There is some light wear to the rear cover but the front cover remains very clean and unworn. Overall this sleeve is far above average condition.

Vinyl: EX

The vinyl is in solid EX condition, and is actually not far off being graded at EX+. There are just a few light hairlines visible on each side and one very small and slightly more noticeable (but not deep) hairline on side two which is just 0.5cm in length.  Overall this is a super copy in really nice condition.

Matrix:

Side 1: ILPS 9127 B//1 1 3 6

Side 2:  ILPS 9127 A//1 3  13

Labels:  EX+

The Custom Labels are in EX+ condition – clean and undamaged. When viewed under strong halogen light, just a few feint spindle marks can be seen.

Inner Sleeves : EX

The original generic sleeve is a nice addition to the set and is in EX condition with little or no notable faults.

Overall this is a really nice A//1 B//1 example of this LP, on the pink island label.

Postage and Packing:

All records are placed in a separate poly lined inner and stored flat outside the sleeve and then placed sealed in a re-sealable polythene outer prior to shipping.  Records are then placed between square cardboard sheets before packaging into cruciform mailers especially designed for LP’s. These mailers are a high grade type which reinforce the edges around the LP and as such they are larger and weigh more than standard mailers.  My postage costs reflect the additional size and weight of the packaging that I use. Despite using high quality packing materials, I only charge the actual costs of postage.
