UK ISLAND PINK RIM/PALM TREE VINYL LP IN GATEFOLD WITH ORIGINAL WHITE INNER SLEEVE.
Can't afford a 'Pink Island' pressing of this classic album? Can't even find a clean playing copy from the early years? Then this should fit the bill. These early EMI pressings for Island, circa 1970, were from from original tapes that had not yet degenerated. They were mastered by the experts at EMI Hayes and pressed on quality vinyl. The A4U pressing was superbly mastered, and it compares very favourably with the first pink label pressings of a year earlier. After these EMI pressed pink rim Island labels, it was down hill all the way - this is the last great pressing of this album, and is vastly superior to any EG/Polydor or CD release. It sounds far warmer and more dynamic than the recent Hi-Res digital file issued by Fripp on vinyl. Give your ears a treat and hear this album the way it was mastered to be heard when originally released. We think this pressing second only to the pink labels, but there are some audiophiles that prefer it as it is less distorted in the really heavy passages. The copy we are offering is a really decent one, with good audio and a lovely clean sleeve.

DISC: EXCELLENT MINUS. VERY CLEAN VINYL WITH NO SCRATCHES AND BARELY ANY SPINDLE WEAR, JUST SOME LIGHT HAIRLINES. DISC PLAYS AND SOUNDS SUPERB, HARDLY ANY STATIC/SURFACE NOISES AND ONLY IN THE QUIETEST PASSAGES. A VERY DECENT COPY.
