Description

KING CRIMSON
LIZARD

On sale a rare 1st uk Press of Lizard by King Crimson with the Pink Rim Label  in near mint and excellent condition. This is the first press version with 1970 on center right in both labels (others don't!).

Seamlessly blending rock, jazz, and classical in a way that few albums have successfully achieved the LP is epic, intimate, cacophonic, and subtle by turn -- and infused with the dark moods first heard when "21st Century Schizoid Man" and "Epitaph" reached listeners' ears the previous year.

LP 1970 - ISLAND ILPS 9141
Stereo – UK 1ST Press

MATRIX
ILPS 9141   A-2U

ILPS 9141   B-2U

The vinyl is visually graded side 1 in near mint minus condition and side 2 in excellent condition. Please see below a description of grades and note that this vinyl is almost 50 years old that has been played and will not transform into anything different to the condition stated.

The Island pink rim labels are in near mint minus condition.

The sleeve is in very good plus condition.  It would have been near mint  but has a large number of creases in tthe laminate of the back sleeve.

The spine is fully legible in near mint condition with corner wear.

?PLEASE VISIT MY OTHER ITEMS AS I REGULARLY LIST RARE ORIGINAL LPs FROM JIMI HENDRIX, LED ZEPPELIN, LOVE, WHO, CREAM, PINK FLOYD, BOWIE, ETC... AS WELL AS INDIE CDs FROM THE LAST DECADE.

Visually-graded vinyl: A visual grading will identify physical flaws (such as scratches) and can help determine whether a record has been cared-for properly. A visual grading will not identify noise or crackle caused by non-visible sources. Most of the records I sell are between thirty and sixty years old and so it is likely that there may be some background noise even if they look perfect.

Guide to grades used
Mint
Cover - Looks new - no marks, wear or damage
Disc - Looks unplayed - no marks visible

Near Mint
Cover - Looks virtually new with signs of handling- Minor wear creases but no marks or damage. Light sleeves may show slight discoloration due to age.
Disc - May have minor scuffs &/or hairline scratches caused by moving record in & out of paper sleeve

Excellent
Cover - Slight signs of wear on edges/spine, corners or ring wear. No damage caused by sticker removal/residue.
Disc- The record has been played and has superficial marks &/or hairline scratches and paper scuffs.

Very good
Cover - Moderate edge/spine or ring wear. Corners may be a little blunt. Opening edge may show feathering caused by removal of record. Visible creases or laminate lift. Localised sticker removal damage.
Disc - The record has been played frequently and has noticeable surface marks, occasional light scratches and paper scuffs.

Good
Cover - Heavy ring or edge/spine wear. Corners noticeable bashed. Heavy creases. Considerable laminate/surface damage.
Disc - The record looks very well played and the sound quality has probably deteriorated noticeably. A lot of surface marks/scratches. Usually used as collection filler

I am not a dealer but an amateur collector selling duplicated items or records that I no longer want to keep (mostly due to space). Unless indicated in the listing the records have been only visually inspected.

Whilst I am happy to provide help and advice, all such claims remain the responsibility of and must be made by the buyer.
