Description
KING CRIMSON LP, IN THE WAKE OF POSEIDON - This is a US pressing from 1970. It's on the ATLANTIC label, and has the 1841 Broadway address indicating a 1970 early pressing. This is from the TERRE HAUTE plant, and with the exact label numbers was likely pressed at the same time as the white label promo. It's their 2nd studio LP, and takes off literally from their impressive debut, In the Court of the Crimson King. Pictures of a city, basically the opener on side one is one of their great early compositions that join chaos and discipline musically. The album is intense with climaxes that make you appreciate the best of 70s progressive music.
COVER is VG+. This cover a beautiful VG+ with the only issues being 3 soft corners. 2 by the spine, and the other bottom right. There's a small cut in from the opening that was either a promo or a discount record.
VINYL plays a solid VG+. One thing about Crimson LPs is they have very quiet parts. Having a KC LP that has background sound does disservice to the music, and definitely listener's enjoyment. This copy has very faint almost no background. It's is a fantastic play, and looks and plays VG+ or better.
OG INNER has no splits ands no toning. It's as close to NM as one could get, seeing that there's been a record in it for 50 years.
