KING CRIMSON - LIZARD
A superb, very sparingly played copy of this King Crimson prog gem with wonderful stereo sound quality throughout
Year/Label : 1970 UK ISLAND (palm tree) Label number : ILPS 9141 Matrix numbers : ILPS 9141 A - 2 U, ILPS 9141 B - 2 U Stampers : GL 2 / GT 1Excellent pus (EX+) condition vinyl - completely flat, weighty and retaining a beautiful jet black lacquered sheen with earliest UK press "A-2U B-2U" matrices. In normal daylight each side of the vinyl comes across as completely unmarked and even with close scrutiny under a bright light I am unable to identify even a wispy hairline or paper scuff - amazing! I am sure that many would grade the condition of the vinyl as "near mint". The labels are in similarly excellent plus (EX+) condition - with close inspection it is possible to identify a couple of extremely faint spindle trails adjacent to the centre hole on each label, otherwise perfect! Clearly this is a record that has been very sparingly played and meticulously looked after. Again, excellent plus (EX+) condition iconic outside-laminated E.J. Day outer gatefold sleeve with firm and unscuffed edges, a rigid non-flattened spine with all spine text remaining perfectly intact, perfectly defined right angled corners with no rubbing at all, no cardboard creasing, firm opening edges with no fraying, no unwanted writing and all text and beautiful art-work remaining vibrant, crisp, with perfect definition still and all wonderfully intact. The only blemishes (far too strong a word) are just a non-obvious 8cm thin strip of light laminate lift on the bottom edge next to the bottom right corner, and an equally non-obvious very small compression mark at the top left corner - each very trivial. Hard to believe that this wonderful UK 1st press gatefold it is now 55 years old! Superb, near mint (NM) stereo sound quality with no sticks, skips, repeats, distortion, or background crackle - wonderful tone and crystal clear audio reproduction with brilliant hard-to-fault stereo sound quality throughout. Inevitably for a 55 year old record you might come across the odd very light and very low level click but rest assured that the cause is either static or a rogue tiny speck of dust caught in the grooves through decades of storage - this vinyl is unmarked!! Comes with original near mint (NM) condition plain white inner sleeve with correct "PATENT NO..." and "MADE IN ENGLAND" text with no side splits, no tears or edge fraying, no age discolouration, and no creasing - incredible! Note that I always ship the vinyl (in this case vinyls) in a new plain white inner sleeve in order to protect the original. Surely there cannot be many copies of this UK 1st press King Crimson prog gem in better condition than this.

Note that I always insert the vinyl into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the outer sleeve to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these precious records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me.
