Description
HERE'S a rare mono copy of the much sought after and highly regarded classic, 'Arthur, Or The Decline and Fall of the British Empire', by The Kinks on original UK Pye from 1969. Like 'Village Green Preservation Society', this brilliant Kinks' album inexplicably failed to chart and is now very hard to track down. The lovely sky blue and black Pye mono labels are in EX condition with no writing, rips or sticker damage, only moderate spindle markings and no spindle wear. Both sides of the disc look a comfortable VG in normal light with just light surface and sleeve removal/scuff marks to be seen when examined under strong halogen lighting - there are no nasty deep feelable scratches. The laminated mono gatefold sleeve is in Good+ condition. There is no sticker damage, no sticker residue and no unwanted writing but there is some damage to the spine, typical to these flimsy gatefold sleeves, mostly towards the top, as you can see in my photos, plus some laminate lift, an area of scuffing of the unlaminated interior panel, and some creasing. These flimsy covers are generally found in terribly tatty condition these days so overall I think you may consider this to be a fairly presentable example. There is no insert with this kopy. Please also check out my other Kinks' Kollectables.
Good luck if you are bidding - if you win be assured I pack carefully, with disc removed from sleeve, to ensure this item reaches you as it leaves me.
Please note this disc plays with various ticks and pops ... in particular a small mark at the start of side one causes several nasty sounding pops/clicks during the instrumental intro to Victoria (but not into the vocals).
