Description

Here's a great LP by THE KINKS from 1970. This copy is a US STEREO pressing from 1970 on the WARNER REPRISE STEAMBOAT LABEL.  It is one of the greatest LPs in Rock history, and the culmination of the greatest creative run The Kinks had from 1966-1970.  Starting with Face to Face, they departed from their early 60s R&R and moved to more creative songwriting and recording. Something Else, Village Green, and Arthur all precede Lola, and whatever they were on, I'll have some too.  They could do no wrong during that period, and it could be argued that those LPs from that period are overall better than The Beatles or The Stones output from the same period.  The fact that The Kinks were barred from playing in the US during that time, the biggest market for them in the world, made it so they couldn't promote their LPs.  And, as such, the LPs didn't sell well and now are rare.   The gatefold COVER is in great condition with some minor discoloration around the perimeter from age, some ring wear, and  a 1/8" small corner ding bottom right.  This copy features BLACK INK for the image and BLUE INK for the band name and title.  IMO, the best cover version with the best of both worlds.  There is a small cut out by the spine upper right.  INSIDE GATEFOLD is beautiful with a solid cover that withstood the love these records got.  The VINYL has been played, but with care.   This copy plays great, a solid VG++. A beautiful playing copy.   One of the treasures of R&R....Grab it here.
