Description

     The Great Lost Kinks Album was a collection of outtakes recorded by the Kinks but never previously issued. The story goes that the Kinks did not want these songs released but when they switched record labels in 1971 from Reprise to RCA (in America), Reprise wanted to keep cashing in and so released this album. It was on the market for just a short time and then was pulled off. Even though the Kinks were not happy with the release, the songs themselves were anywhere from good to excellent. Many have shown up on future CDs as bonus songs.

      The record cover is in excellent condition. The only flaw being a slight cutout mark in the bottom right corner. See photo. Otherwise, no markings, folds and no separations. The original inner sleeve is in excellent condition with no markings or folds or separations. The record itself is also in excellent condition with no markings or surface scratches. It was only played maybe 3 or 4 times.

     There is also an original insert included which is an essay by noted rock critic John Mendelsohn, who also wrote the liner notes to The Kinks Kronikles.

     A very rare album and a great edition to any collector of Kinks albums.
