Description
This is a near mint condition record album, a 1974 release on the American Casablanca Records label (NB 9001), the debut album by heavy metal gods KISS. 10 tracks of their heavy metal mayhem with songs like " Strutter," " Nothing To Lose," and "Firehouse." This is a relist of a title from a couple weeks back, I wanted to be more specific about this unusual “in-between” issue. Cover in mint shape - still in original shrink wrap with Record Bar price sticker, no cuts no holes no creases no marks. Features sticker on front listing "Kissing Time," however, that song is not listed on the back cover credits, nor is it listed on side two‘s label. However, there are 5 bands (instead of the four listed) on side two, including the song. My guess is that this is some sort of in-between pressing using up the old labels and covers. From the Wikipedia folks, ""Kissin' Time" was not included on the original album; in fact it was not recorded until two months after the album's February release. By April, the album was clearly not the commercial success the band and Casablanca Records founder Neil Bogart were hoping for. Bogart, who knew that a catchy single could save the album, ordered Kiss back into the studio to record "Kissin' Time," which was a Top 20 hit for Bobby Rydell in 1959. It was released as a single on May 10, but never reached any higher than #79. It did, however, boost sales of the album even though it was not added to the album until it was reissued in July 1974 (against the wishes of the band)." Vinyl in mint minus shape - some sleeve scuffs. Domestic postage is $4.00- priority mail, confirmation and/or insurance at buyer’s request and expense. Canadian bidders, please write for airmail postal quote. Overseas European buyer to pay $15.50 for unregistered airmail. Overseas Asian buyer to pay $16.50 for unregistered airmail. Italian bidders, please note: due to a high percentage of postal losses this past year, I will NOT be refunding for any circumstances- you bid knowing that you accept full responsibility for any loss or damage by your erratic postal service. Thanks for reading all of this!
In response to several questions, I've included several more scans. My first submission caught more of the shrink wrap's reflection than it did the cover art, any rings or imperfections are on the wrap and not the actual cover art. Additional scans show the back cover, where only 4 songs are listed, as well as the Warner Bros. distribution, along with a scan of Side Two's label, however there are 5 songs on the vinyl, including Kissing Time. As I mention in my description, this must have been a second press but with the old covers and labels....
