Description
Hi, up for auction here is a nice and now hard to find KISS single. This is the ‘Star Trax’ 7” single from Australia released in 1979 on the Casablanca label. Catalog # 6 200 027.

This is actually an ‘E.P.’ having two (2) tracks on each side.

Released during the original wave of ‘KISSteria’ in Australia, this single features the ‘proper’ lightning bolt KISS logo as opposed to the earlier generic lettering release. It also has the ‘Star Trax’ title ‘KISS’ and catalog number along the left side spine like an L.P. This copy also retains its original factory thin plastic ’anti - static’ inner dust sleeve.
As for the condition, I’m a collector myself and pretty critical when rating items. Having said that, this is in superb shape. The vinyl itself visually seems to be un played. No signs of wear, scratches - just a couple of the lightest of scuffs, probably caused by removing it from the sleeve. NO spindle marks evident on either side, labels are very clean with no markings, fading, etc, some light static dust as to be expected. Overall rating is a firm 8 out of 10.
The cover is in great condition too, made of thin card stock with no ‘wear through’ whatsoever on any of the three (3) solid sides. The opening edge is almost free from any burring, just the slightest hint but you really have to look for this. The only picky thing to note is a slight ‘spider’ crease running from around an inch (2.5cm) to the right from the word ‘STAR’ which runs down to the left side ending at the top of the left side of Gene’s hair on the picture. You have to turn the sleeve towards the light to see this though. The spine has some light creasing more noticeable from the back. I’m pretty confident most of this is down to how the ‘sleeve was manufactured rather than mishandling, etc, I’d rate the cover at a firm and critical 7.5 out of 10. In above average shape I’d say for a nigh on 34 year old item of this nature.
There you have it, an increasingly hard to find piece of KISS vinyl for the KISS singles collector/aficionado.
