Description
KLEMPERER / BEETHOVEN - " SYMPHONY NO.5 / OVERTURE 'KING STEPHEN' ", Columbia/EMI Records Ltd (SAX 2373) Stereo, 1960.
Very rare 1969, first UK Stereo pressing of the very rare Columbia LP with the all important Silver and Light Blue label - see photo.
English issue and pressing.
Professionally cleaned on my Moth record cleaning machine and then put in a fresh new poly-lined inner sleeve (the original inner sleeve has also been
CONDITION:
VINYL = EXCELLENT (No scratches, no groove damage, no distortion, just the very lightest of spindle trails, etc. In normal daylight the vinyl appears perfectly clean, under a bright grading lamp I can make out a few very light paper scuffs just visible on the vinyl's surface - although none of these correspond directly to any audible defects. On playback, there is some very faint surface noise just audibile during the silent run-in and occasionally duringa couple of other quiet sections, but generally, it plays strong and clean - free from interuption from distortion, clicks, pops, etc. Overall, although it is not quite a mint museum piece, this LP would make a good honest copy for someone to play and enjoy.
Note: for the purposes of this listing I have tested this LP on my Linn LP12 Sondek turntable - generally this is quite a critical test, but I must point out that I cannot guarantee exactly how this LP will sound on your turntable - common sense for most... but then this is ebay!!!)
SLEEVE = V.G.++ (No rips, tears, defacing, etc... Pretty tidy with some light wear around the edges and some delamination along the spine. The back is surprisingly cleanand white still though - see photos for further clarification)
