Description

A two-record set in a very nice box. The Decca SXL version of this recording sold on eBay for $765.00 on March 19, 2004 (# 4001806777). The LPs in this mono set are on the LONDON Black/Silver Label (ffrr) made in England. The set number is A 4229. The stampers on the individual records are 1A (side one) 2A (side 2) 4A (side 3) and 3A on side four. Act I of Wagner's "Die Walküre" complete on the first three sides. Side 4 has Dawn and Siegfried's Rhine Journey and Siegfried's Funeral Music from Götterdämmerung. Hans Knappertsbusch conducts the Vienna Philharmonic. The singers in the Walküre are Kirsten Flagstad, Set Svanholm and Arnold Van Mill. A ten-page booklet (large format) with the original German text and the English translation is included. Despite their age the two LPs are in excellent condition. There is a visible scuff-mark on side 4 (Götterdämmerung) The box itself is in SUPERB condition.
