Hans Knappertsbusch conducts the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra
Anton Bruckner: Symphony Nr.5 in b major
rare German first pressing vinyl 2LP set released in the late 50s on orange/gold DECCA label with catalognumbers LX5255 and LX5256-H. The laminated top-open covers and both vinyl grade exc/nm with very clean labels and no spindlemarks. Records play with stunnning soundquality especially if you own a mono pickup system such as e.g. Ortofon SPU or Denon DL102... Indeed a famous performance by Hans Knappertsbusch and the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra... See the beautiful picture sleeve which shows the orchestra with Walter Barylli as concertmaster, Otto Strasser (2 Violins), Ernst Moraweg and Rudolf Streng (violas first desk), Alfred Boskowski, Leoplold Wlach, and other well known players of the post war era of the professors. Brass players are out of sight; conductor not identifiable but probably not a Decca artist... A hard to find record set in any condition... don't miss!!
