KOHU-63 – Valtaa Ei Loistoa mLP (Poko Records) 1982

This band’s best release…I’ve heard this band’s sound referred to as “pogo punk”, but I don’t really ‘get it’…sounds like straight-forward driving Finnish punk/hardcore/thrash to me for the most part…yeah, it has some catchy choruses here and there, but the term “pogo” makes me think of “bouncy” which this isn’t…Maybe I’d agree with “pub-style hardcore/thrash”….Killer ultra-collectible early finnish punk/hc release!…

The cover and vinyl are both super clean…the cover does have a moderate seam split on top, otherwise no major blemishes…Nice copy overall.

than the tracks on their ' 77-like "Pelimanimusaa " EP. They
certainly haven 't lost any drive or power, though some of the
melodic hooks may have been trampled in the stampeding tempo.
Still, a fine record, and check out the COCKNEY REJECTS-EXPLOITED parody ("Harpsalii Kids") for a good laugh . (JB)

Kohu 63 were one of those awesome, obscure, and short-lived bands that shall forever live on in the hearts of those punk fans lucky enough to own their records. Debuting in 1981 with their raw Pelimannimusaa 7", the band quickly followed up with this gem of an eight song mini-LP. Kohu 63 released their first full-length album in 1982 and then disappeared, returning briefly in 1986 with the release of their "Kolme vuotta myöhemmin" 7" which lacked much of the inspiration that made their early material so great. Disappearing once again until 1989, the band released four more 7"s between 1989 and 1991. They wouldn't be heard from again until the year 2000 when they released their second full-length album "Neljällä vuosikymmenellä".





All of my Lps have been stored in re-sealable mylar collectors sleeves for many years and I’m only auctioning these because a)  I've bought doubles of some of my favorite records over the years in hopes of them being wise investments, and b) I’m in desperate need of money right now, so please, help a brother out and put in a bid.  Most records are all in very nice collectible condition and i try to grade strictly and do the best that i can to inform you of any imperfections...some bent corners and such may hardly be worth mentioning, but i mention it anyway so that there are no surprises.  I'm a believer in karma, and i'm actually in need of good karma now, so please bid with confidence!  Thanks, and check out my other auctions!
