It has become very difficult to find one of these original 2014 US pressings in this Great New Sealed Condition. The album has been professionally stored and has never been opened, or played. 2014 Double Vinyl LP pressing of the debut studio album from the South African alt / pop rock band now living in Phoenix, Arizona. The band opened for Kings of Leon on their USA Summer 2014 tour & performed at Lollapalooza.
Kongos is a band created by the four sons of John Kongos, a songwriter, musician and engineer, born 1945, in Johannesburg, South Africa. He is best known for his hits "He's Gonna Step On You Again" and "Tokoloshe Man", John Kongos has sold over 25 million copies as a songwriter and/or artist since the 1970's, with various Number One and Top Ten hits.
Kongos is a South African rock band formed in 2007, consisting of four brothers: Johnny, Jesse, Dylan, and Daniel Kongos. They are known for their unique sound that blends rock, alternative, and elements of folk music, often featuring the use of the accordion and other unconventional instruments.
" This is one of the best albums I've heard in a long time, not one bad track in the line up. I guess Kongos are considered alt rockers, whatever that even means these days, but genre aside, these four brothers from South Africa are super talented, versatile, original and very worth listening to. They all write, compose, sing, play multiple instruments and their talent, drive and energy shines through.
How can you not love a rock band that features an accordion - that gets solos in some songs - and it works, really well. Combine that with thumping beats, kick-ass guitar riffs, Burundi drums and a little bit of Reggae flavor, and you have the magic that is Kongos. You've heard them, whether you realize it or not, because their break through song "Come With Me Now" was all over the air waves this past summer, and was even featured in some commercials and move trailers.
Lunatic is labeled explicit I assume due to use of the "F-word" in one track and I guess what might be considered "adult themes/content" in a couple of other tracks, but it's mild compared to some other artists/songs I've heard. Still, if such things are an issue for you, you'll probably want to skip the album, which would be a shame because it worth listening to, over and over again." - Fan of This Album.
