Description

The Korean Deaf Percussion Orchestra (no label, 196?).  One of the most unique artifacts I've run across from the early 60's instro pop era, these musicians play entirely through vibration and shred/stumble through Exotica/Space Age classics like "Autumn Leaves", "Mambo No. 5", "Hawaiian War Chant', "Besame Mucho", "Bumble Bee Boogie", etc using an array of percussive instruments (xylophone, marimba, string bass, hand drums, plus some guitar and piano). Looks like the folks at WFMU got hip this one at some point and you can find an MP3 of "Hawaiian War Chant" with a quick Google search. This is a no label Korean oddity and considering I've made it my business to dig up perplexing records like this for the past 12+ years and have never once seen or heard of it, I have to assume it's very rare. $1 starting bid, happy holidays everybody! Lounge/Exotica/Incredibly Strange Music fans, be sure and visit my sites Companion Records and Show and Tell Music for more fun music in the same vein.

Condition: Cover: VG+. Disc: VG+ (strong!). Shipping: $4.00 within the U.S. and $14-15.00 overseas.
